From A Purposeful Solution To A Powerful Mission
Dr. Ravi R. Iyer began developing his work nearly two decades ago when he created AyuRub to relieve his mother’s arthritic knee pain so she could sleep at night. He didn't initially intend to start a company. Dr. Iyer wanted to solve a personal problem using his background in Western medicine, molecular biology, and biochemistry. The product later helped one of his patients find relief following neck surgery. Before ActivPower legally existed, he had already spent approximately 10 years developing products in his basement and experimenting with different compositions.
His work eventually expanded from human wellness into canine wellness. After using his oil on his injured German Shepherd and seeing the dog improve, he developed a canine version. Dr. Iyer later created Atlas after a dog owner asked him to develop something that could help rebuild his dog’s reduced muscle mass. The product combined 16 human-grade ingredients selected to support muscles, bones, ligaments, absorption, inflammatory balance, and wound healing.
As Founder & Chairman of ActivPower Group of Companies and The Iyer Clinic, Dr. Iyer now leads teams working across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and longevity medicine. His work is guided by the belief that every living creature should have the opportunity to live free from pain and maintain the highest possible level of function.

Dr. Ravi R. Iyer shared his experience combining Eastern and Western approaches to healthcare in an insightful conversation at the Health 2.0 Conference. During the panel discussion “Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Indigenous Healing Practices: What Can Science Learn?,” he drew upon his 42 years as a physician and his training in Western medicine, molecular biology, and biochemistry. He described Western medicine as highly formulated, regulated, and focused on standardization.
Dr. Iyer also explained how ActivPower combines Eastern herbal medicine and marine biologicals with rigorous Western testing. This approach allows the company to create proprietary blends while using multiple compounds within the same holistic system. He linked this approach to healthcare’s shift toward greater personalization, regenerative medicine, and longevity care.
At the concurrently held Founders 2.0 Conference, Dr. Iyer delivered the Keynote “Profitability By Design: Building Businesses That Grow Stronger, Not Just Bigger.” He highlighted how businesses can survive growth by establishing a clear context, maintaining integrity and authenticity, and treating profitability as an essential part of growth rather than a later outcome.
