Brian J. Bauer Addressed Systemic Gaps In Recovery At The Health 2.0 Conference’s 2025 Edition

Witness Brian J. Bauer’s Impactful Keynote On Recovery And Reform!

At the Health 2.0 Conference, USA 2025 Edition, Brian J. Bauer addressed systemic gaps in addiction recovery and shared his long-term reform model.

Las Vegas, USA – July 10, 2025 — The Spring 2025 edition of the Health 2.0 Conference, held from March 4 to 6 at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, brought together leading voices in healthcare innovation, advocacy, and reform. Marked by thought-provoking discussions and groundbreaking perspectives, the conference reinforced its role as a hub for healthcare transformation. Among them was Brian J. Bauer, Founder & Executive Director of Abundance Foundation Inc., who took the stage to deliver a stirring keynote.

Brian J. Bauer's life transformation is remarkable. Overcoming a tumultuous past involving substance abuse, he found solace and direction in a recovery program. His journey of over eleven years of sobriety led him to work in the treatment industry. Recognizing the cycle of relapse, Brian founded the Abundance Foundation Inc. in 2020, providing a crucial support system for those in need. Expanding his mission, in 2022 and 2023, men’s and women’s houses were opened in Fort Collins, Colorado, and continue to expand from there.

In his keynote session “Broken System, Not Broken People,” Brian challenged the current addiction treatment infrastructure and spotlighted the urgent need for long-term recovery solutions. He opened with a staggering figure: over 48 million Americans aged 12 or older struggled with a substance use disorder in 2023. Yet only 14 percent of them received any form of treatment. Even among those who do access care, the relapse rate is alarmingly high, with 85 percent returning to substance use within the first year. Brian made it clear that the issue is not a failure of individuals but of a fragmented system that lacks continuity, compassion, and effective follow-up.

He identified three key barriers to successful recovery: the social stigma that discourages people from seeking help, the financial inaccessibility of treatment for many low-income individuals, and the absence of long-term community support after initial rehabilitation. These gaps, Brian argued, create a revolving door in the recovery process and perpetuate cycles of addiction.

Through the Abundance Foundation, Brian is modeling a new approach. His team offers housing, peer mentorship, coaching, and emotional support, helping individuals reintegrate into society with purpose and stability. Their program emphasizes connection, accountability, and empowerment. With over 80 percent sobriety rates and growing success stories, the foundation is making tangible progress.

Brian closed his keynote with a message of hope and responsibility. He urged the public to support grassroots recovery organizations, vote for expanded mental health resources, and open lines of communication with loved ones in need. His presence at the health and wellness conference reminded attendees that rebuilding lives begins with reconstructing systems and that meaningful change starts with human connection.
