Dubai, UAE – July 4, 2025 — The Winter 2024 Edition of the Health 2.0 Conference was held from December 3–5, 2024, at the InterContinental DFC in Dubai. The three-day health summit brought together healthcare professionals and innovators to discuss pressing issues in patient care and provider well-being. Featured on the speaker lineup was Heather Marie-Ogburn Stokes, Founder and CEO of Serenity Light Recovery, who addressed the role of workplace wellness programs in reducing burnout, enhancing staff retention, and improving patient outcomes.

She holds a degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University and the University of Houston and is a Certified IASIS Provider, Crisis Prevention Instructor, Ayurveda Practitioner, and Life Recovery Coach. In her keynote session titled “Implementing Wellness Programs And Self-Care Policies Into Healthcare To Increase Productivity, Employee Retention & Improving Patient Outcomes,” Heather Ogburn Stokes addressed the mental health crisis among frontline healthcare workers. She highlighted the need to make wellness part of daily routines, sharing how Serenity Light Recovery integrates practices like meditation, massage, and sound therapy to ease stress and build resilience. Heather noted that staff who engage in these programs take fewer days off and deliver more attentive care. She encouraged leaders to prioritize consistent check-ins, such as asking “What do you do for self-care?”, and to create supportive environments that promote healing for both patients and caregivers.
Heather also served as a panelist during the discussion titled “The Science Of Happiness: What Truly Makes Us Content?” where she shared a personal and grounded perspective on happiness. Drawing from her recovery journey, she described it as a state of internal peace rooted in connection, purpose, and alignment with one’s values. Heather emphasized that lasting contentment begins with releasing trauma and limiting beliefs, and encouraged the use of mindfulness, spiritual reflection, and daily rituals to build self-awareness and emotional clarity.
Heather Ogburn Stokes’ powerful keynote at the health summit ignited meaningful dialogue on the importance of wellness in healthcare settings. Her insights into the integration of self-care policies and holistic wellness practices are set to inspire change within healthcare teams, ultimately enhancing both employee well-being and patient outcomes.
